Missing a UAE tax deadline is expensive — administrative penalties are fixed in law and the FTA applies them automatically. This hub brings the key Corporate Tax, VAT, and e-invoicing dates and fines together so nothing catches you out.
The penalties that hurt most
- AED 10,000 — fixed penalty for late Corporate Tax registration.
- AED 1,000 then AED 2,000 — late VAT return filing (first and repeat offences).
- AED 5,000 per month — failing to implement e-invoicing or appoint an ASP once your phase is live.
- Corporate Tax returns are due within 9 months of your financial year end; VAT returns within 28 days of each tax period.
Can penalties be waived?
In specific circumstances the FTA operates penalty-waiver and instalment mechanisms, and time-limited relief initiatives have applied to late Corporate Tax registration. Waivers are not automatic — they must be applied for correctly and on time.
